KROPELA is made from high-quality stainless steel. We chose it for one simple reason: it is built for real, everyday wear. Unlike ordinary plated brass jewellery, stainless steel does not rust, does not tarnish and does not fade. You can wear it in the shower, at the pool and in the sea, day after day, and it keeps its colour and shine far longer. It is also lightweight and kind to sensitive skin, so it stays comfortable from morning to night.

Our materials

The core of every piece is surgical-grade (316L) stainless steel, finished with a PVD ion-plated colour in gold-tone, silver-tone or rose-tone. PVD plating bonds the colour to the steel, which is what gives our finishes their lasting wear and resistance.

To be clear about what KROPELA is: it is high-quality stainless steel fashion jewellery. It is not solid gold, sterling silver or brass, and we never describe it with a karat. What you get instead is honest, durable jewellery at a fair price.

Some designs feature natural accents. These include freshwater and baroque pearls, crystal and cubic zirconia stones, and enamel detailing. Because pearls and stones are natural or set materials, they need a little more gentleness than the steel itself.

Made to be kept

Stainless steel is what makes "made to be kept" literally true.

Waterproof. Shower, pool, sea and sweat are all fine. The steel will not rust, so you can leave your jewellery on through your whole day.
Hypoallergenic and nickel-safe. Gentle on sensitive skin and ears, so it stays comfortable for everyday wear.
Tarnish-free and fade-free. The colour holds its own far longer than ordinary brass-based plated jewellery, which dulls and discolours over time.

This is the difference between jewellery you save for special occasions and jewellery you actually live in.

Caring for your jewellery

Your KROPELA pieces are low-maintenance by design. A few simple habits will keep them looking their best for years.

Do

Pat your jewellery dry with a soft cloth after swimming, showering or sweating.
Store it in the pouch provided, away from other pieces, to avoid scratches.
Put it on last, after your perfume, lotion and hair products have dried.
Wipe it now and then with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.

Don't

Spray perfume or apply lotion, sunscreen or hairspray directly onto the piece.
Use harsh chemicals, bleach or abrasive cleaners on it.
Toss pieces loose into a bag or drawer where they can knock against each other.

Pieces with pearls or stones deserve a little extra care. Pearls are soft and porous, so keep them away from chemicals and perfume entirely, wipe them only with a soft dry cloth, and never soak them. Treat set stones gently and avoid knocks that could loosen them.
